687 Rilke, Rainer Maria Wartime Letters of Rainer Maria Rilke 1914-1921. Translated By M.D. Herter Norton. W.W. Norton & Co. New York, 1940
First American Edition Hard Cover Very Good+, Very Good+

Dust jacket shows trace of rubbing to paper at spine ends, corners clipped on front endpaper, price stamped on bottom corner. First Edition stated on copyright page. Clean and sound throughout. Most are taken from Insel-Verlag's standard series of Rilke's Letters 1914-1941, a few "From Merzot" and from Anton Kippenberg from "To His Publisher". Included by the translator are pertinent biographical details of Rilke's life during this period which give both context and setting for the correspondence assembled in this volume. Sections: Contents, Foreword, The Letters, Notes, List of Correspondents. #687. Price:
