xvi.339pgs. + adv. Good condition textured green cloth hardcover, gilt lettering to spine. Cloth of spine is sunned and ends of spine are frayed and chipped, with cloth torn along upper spine edges. Wear to cloth at edges and corners of boards. Paper over hinges is cracked, although underlying mesh binding remains intact and holding. Endpapers list various titles of the Bohn's series of publications. Frontis of a bust of Sophocles, lightly foxed, with accompanying tissue intact. Text is clean and sound. Contents: Preface by Theodore Alois Buckley, Introduction, Oedipus Rex: Oedipus Tyrannus, Oedipus Coloneus, Electra, Antigone, Trachiniae, Ajax, Philoctetes. Extensive section of advertisements for Bohn's publications is appended. #1976.
